Silver (pure)
What is it?
Silver comes in all shapes and sizes. Often, silver solutions or silver particles so small they penetrate the surface of the skin (nano silver), are used to reduce costs. nuud, instead uses micro silver; much larger silver particles (which cannot penetrate the skin) and, our silver is nota solution; the silver in nuud is 99,9% pure.
What are its effects?
Silver has a natural antibacterial effect. Therefore, it inhibits bacteria in a natural way.
Why is it in nuud?
To inhibit the bacteria responsible for the smell of perspiration, so that the smell of perspiration is prevented.
Coconut oil
What is it?
A pure product made 100% of natural coconut oil.
What are its effects?
Oil does not dissolve in water and makes it easier to apply the product onto your skin.
Why is it in nuud?
Coconut oil ensures that nuud does not dissolve in (bath and shower) water or in your perspiration. In addition, it helps to keep your skin soft and supple.
Castor oil
What is it?
This ingredient comes from the Ricinus communis. Also known as the castor oil plant. Castor oil has been used by humans for a very long time. Castor seeds, from which castor oil comes, have been found in Egyptian tombs dating back to 4000 BC, and the use of castor oil has been described by Greek travellers, including Herodotos. In India the oil has been used since at least 2000 BC, and in China too it has been used for centuries, mainly for medicinal reasons.
What are its effects?
Oil does not dissolve in water and it makes it easier to apply the product onto your skin.

Castor oil ensures that nuud does not dissolve in (bath and shower) water or in your perspiration. In addition, it helps to keep your skin soft and supple.
Zinc oxide
What is it?
Zinc oxide is obtained by heating zinc, leaving a pure white powder.
What are its effects?
Zinc oxide ensures that the skin is properly cleaned. In addition, it protects your skin. Which is why it is often used, in for example baby ointments.
Why is it in nuud?
In order for nuud to do its job properly, it is important that the skin is clean; only then are the active ingredients the most effective.
Almond oil
What is it?
Oil of the almond tree (Prunus dulcis, formerly known as Prunus amygdalus) is related to the rose family and it is a small deciduous tree with as its fruit, the almond.
What are its effects?
This oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, such as oleic acid and linoleic acid, which makes the oil extra gentle for your skin. In addition, it does not dissolve in water and makes it easier to apply products onto the skin.
Why is it in nuud?
Almond oil ensures that nuud does not dissolve in (bath and shower) water or in your perspiration. In addition, it takes care of any dry or sensitive skin.
Mineral clay
What is it?
Stearalkonium bentonite is combination of stearalkonium hectorite and bentonite clay. Stearalkonium hectorite is a mineral that was discovered close to the American town of Hector. Bentonite clay is formed when volcanic ash comes into contact with water. Various different substances can be found in clay. In the case that this particular mineral is found in the clay, we therefore call it by its main substance; stearalkonium bentonite.
What are its effects?
This clay makes it easier to apply the product onto the skin, and improves its viscosity (= syrup-like).
Why is it in nuud?
Stearalkonium bentonite promotes the ease of application onto the skin; it makes the cream thin enough to lubricate the skin well, but thick enough to adhere well to the skin.
Vegetable emulsifier
What is it?
It is a natural emulsifier obtained from glycerine and stearic acid, from only vegetable origins.
What are its effects?
This ingredient ensures that the other ingredients mix well.
Why is it in nuud?
It ensures that nuud’s ingredients mix well, so that the result is a lovely cream, which remains lovely and easily applicable at all temperatures.

Vegetable mix-enhancer
What is it?
Propylene carbonate is a fragrance free and odourless organic compound. In high concentrations it can be irritating, but it never will be in the low concentrations used in cosmetics.
What are its effects?
Propylene carbonate promotes the solubility of substances.

To ensure that all ingredients mix well, resulting in a homogeneous product.
Carnauba wax
What is it?
Copernicia cerifera cera is carnauba wax. This is a yellow-brown wax from the leaves of the carnauba palm.
What are its effects?
It gives extra firmness and is not soluble in water.
Why is it in nuud?
It ensures that nuud does not get too thin and liquid, especially at higher temperatures (summer).
